So, prepare all the necessary tools and materials for making a pencil case:

  • cardboard can (for the frame);
  • salt dough (uncolored);
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • corrugated paper or a piece of decorative rope;
  • button;
  • gouache:
  • stacks;
  • tassel;
  • acrylic varnish;
  • Toothbrush.

Master class "Pencil-owl from salt dough with your own hands":

1) Cut off a piece of salt dough and add a small amount of beige gouache to the mass. Knead the dough thoroughly so that the shade becomes uniform. We roll out a colored piece of mass into a cake with a thickness of 10-15 mm.

2) We apply PVA glue to the outer side of the can and wrap it with a salt dough cake. We cut off the excess dough with a stack, and smooth the junction with a damp brush. With a toothbrush we push the texture on the dough. The base of the pencil holder is ready.

4) Now we sculpt the small details of the craft. Glue two large eyes on the top of the stand. Between the cakes we fix the sharp beak of the owlet.

5) We complement the white eyes with bright blue smaller cakes.

6) We fashion a knitted bow from thin flagella of pink dough. Let it dry for 1-2 hours.

7) Then we complement the sides of the craft with flat drop-shaped wings.

8) We decorate the neck of the jar with a pigtail made of salt dough bundles.

9) We roll up a sausage from the white mass, flatten it and draw the texture of lace with a stack or a skewer. Using glue, stick it on top of the brown strip.

10) Since it is not recommended to bake the colored dough, we will dry it in the open air. We leave the craft on the battery for about 24 hours. When the dough is completely dry, proceed to painting. We add saturation to the wings and the bottom of the pencil case using brown gouache.

11) Then we decorate the painted parts with white dots of different diameters.

12) We finish the pupils and eyelashes with black gouache. And when the paint dries, we supplement them with white highlights.

My daughter's favorite toys are pencils, felt-tip pens, paints. She can do a lot at her 2.5: draws funny faces, paints figures, outlines the contours. But I still have not taught her the order: to put the "inventory" after work. In the first days of September, inspired by the Day of Knowledge, I decided to organize my creative materials. And so the idea was born to create a funny stand - a hedgehog, to interest the baby and teach her to clean.

In the course of work, we needed: flour, salt, water - for making salt dough; foil, pencils, scissors, gouache, brush - for decorating the product.

1. Prepare the dough: mix 1 cup of flour and 0.5 cups of finely ground salt, add half a cup of cold water in two steps (photo 1).

2. Carefully knead the dough to a homogeneous consistency (photo 2). The mass should be elastic, not stick to your hands. For elasticity, you can add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.

3. We give shape to our lump of dough - we sculpt a hedgehog (photo 3).

4. We insert pencils that imitate needles on the back of a hedgehog (photo 4). Older children can be entrusted with scissors to make serifs - so on the back of the hedgehog, in addition to pencils, small needles from dough will appear (photo 5).

5. We make holes by sticking and scrolling the pencil (photo 6). Carefully transfer the hedgehog to the foil and send it to dry in the oven for 2-3 hours at 100 degrees. The oven does not need to be preheated, it must be cold and heat up along with the product. This will prevent the appearance of cracks on the surface of the dough.

6. We periodically check the readiness: if the dough has evenly hardened, a ringing sound is heard when tapping - you can start painting.

7. The daughter chose the method of decorating herself: she decided to cover the needles with different colors, although I insisted on giving them a standard black color (photo 7).

8. I had to finish the work myself - the hedgehog turned out to be very funny! (photo 8)

9. Insert pencils - done! (photo 9)

My daughter was delighted with the process and the result. Now the hedgehog lives on her table and does not scatter needles and pencils. The child now asks to mold a mother and brother to a hedgehog. And we will definitely do this, because we still need to organize the felt-tip pens and crayons.

Roll out the salt dough and divide it into two unequal parts.

Step 2. We roll a ball from a small part.

Step 3. Flatten the ball into a pancake.

Step 4. On one side, draw out the corner.

Step 5. On the surface of the molded leaf, we denote the veins with a stack.

The leaf is ready.

Step 6. Let's start modeling a ladybug.

We take the 2nd part of the salt dough, roll it out and divide the sausage into 2 unequal parts (a large part for the body, a small one for the head and antennae).

Step 7. For the body, take most of the salt dough, roll the ball.

Step 8. Flatten the ball slightly.

Step 9. For the head, roll out a small sausage, bend it slightly.

Step 10. Glue the head to the body, wetting the bonding points with water.

flour-200 g, salt-100 g, water-125 g, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of hand cream (for dough plasticity).

To begin with, let's take a ready-made cardboard form, for example, a toilet paper roll sleeve.

Draw and cut out a small heart on one side (about 5 cm wide).

Using a brush and PVA glue, glue the sleeve with a gauze base in 2 layers (it is possible without it).

Let dry for 20-30 minutes. And with nail scissors, carefully cut out a layer of gauze against the background of a through heart. Our form is ready for further work with salt dough.

Roll out part of the dough with a rolling pin on the board in the form of a rectangle.

We put our blank on the dough and cut it on both sides, marking the borders of the bottom and top.

We wrap the cardboard with the moistened side of the dough, slightly smoothing it in shape and combining the edges.

We smooth the joints properly, wetting the fingers with water. The heart is slightly pressed with a finger and cut out, pressing the stack to the very edge of the contour.

and impose on the opposite side of the cylinder, thus "killing two birds with one stone"

On a rolled out small circle of dough with a thickness of 4-5 mm, we install a semi-finished product, slightly pressing it into the bottom. We cut off the excess dough in a circle, departing from the cylinder 2-3 mm. We rub the edge with a wet glass.

Aesthetically wrap the upper part: roll up a thin flagellum and attach it to the moistened upper edge of the form to balance and repeat the bottom topography.

The future pencil holder can be decorated by wrapping hearts, circles, etc. with thin reliefs.

After natural drying at room temperature (1-3 days) or

in a gas oven with the door open at the lowest heat for 2 hours,

you can start painting your product with acrylic paints or gouache.

The color scheme depends on your artistic tastes and preferences.

The work can be built on contrast (opposite colors, or in monochrome (closer) combinations.

The inside can be ennobled by covering it with one of the previously applied colors.

You can experiment, cut completely different holes in cardboard.

Make gifts yourself and with the kids at school, in kindergarten, in the family. And give them not only to sisters, mothers, grandmothers, but also to brothers, fathers, grandfathers. It all depends on fantasies!

Dare! Good luck to you all, colleagues!
